Has anybody refinished wood floors? How do you get screws out of the floor? We are going to be doing our living room next week. We already did the bedrooms... they came out great.

  • If you have hardwood floors there should not be any screws holding the boards down. maybe just some small brad nails. If you do indeed have screws get a scredriver and remove them by backing them out or if hubby has a drill, put the drill bit on reverse and back them out slowly. dont pull them out, the screw will pull out small sections of wood and make the hole bigger. Find out why they were screwed in, maybe the board would not stay down or was warped? Fill that hole with a matching wood putty and stain to match the floor. If the board is loose or needs to be held in place use small brad type nails and then set them in the wood with a punch. good luck. pm me if you need to.
