Any ideas for lunch/dinner for a 16 month old?

My son eats PB&J's, Mac & Cheese, Fish Sticks, Chicken Nuggets, Hot Dogs, etc. Any other ideas ladies?!?

  • He should be eating pretty much whatever you're eating. Of course, baring spicy foods, foods that are too tough, etc.

    My son eats:
    Baked Beans
    Grilled Cheese
Soup .. I boil the soup and then drain it and he eats all the meats, noodles, and veggies.
Eggs. He rarely eats those, because we're not huge on eggs in this family.
    French Toast
    Mashed Potatoes
    Buttered noodles
    Rice (Flavored or plain)
    Cold Pasta Salad

    Pretty much whatever we're having.

  • feed him whatever you are having for dinner/lunch. maybe I'm odd, but I'm not a short order cook in my house, I fix one meal and everyone eats it.

  • Well, he's at the nanny's or my mothers house for lunch each day so they typically don't cook big meals. For dinner he usually just eats what we eat unless it really spicy.

  • personally, i would not feed my 15 month old hot dogs. he has not had a hot dog yet and probably wont have one for quite some time because they are just nasty and have no nutritional value at all. i wont never let him have a hot dog, but at this age, its just unnecessary.
my son eats whole wheat pasta with either sauce or butter and cheese, ravioli, tortellini, roasted chicken, baked potatoes, corn and broccoli, grilled cheese on whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat bagels with vegtable cream cheese, brown rice, fish, eggs with whole wheat toast, etc.

  • My 14 month old just had a grilled cheese (real cheese, not the processed cheese food stuff) sandwich (on whole wheat bread) with apples and carrots on the side.

  • Purpul- My son eats all beef hot dogs with the cheese in them. I do not feel that all beef hot dogs are nasty and they contain less fat than the regular hot dogs. Thank you for the ideas regarding other items for his lunch/dinners. :)

  • Layh- Yes, he usually eats what we do but mainly it's just lunch that I am looking for more ideas, as I have to send it with him each day to the nanny's or my mothers house. Thank you for all the ideas though!! :)
