how exactly does topical flea medicine work for cats?

I gave my cat some advantage....DIE FLEAS! DIE! lol I am curious how it works though. I applied it behind the neck/skull area so it is out of reach, but does it spread throughout his entire body? How does it kill all the fleas if it's just applied in that neck area?

  • It gets into their blood system and when the fleas eat the blood it kills them! That stuff is wonderful!

I use it on my dog! :)

  • it soaks into their skin and then into their blood.

We've had better results with a pill flea medicine for our dog though, the topical stuff just wasn't working.
