Do bed bug bites look like mosquito bites?

My daughter came home from camp today with lots of bites on her legs. My spouse has raging paranoia about bed bugs.

Thank you, in advance, for your wisdom!

  • That's not what mine looked like this morning... mine were as the OP said like mosquito bites... but they didn't start until i covered up with my blanket and sheet (which are freshly cleaned as of the other day, so it isn't that they're dirty...?).

  • Okay, that's sooooo not what got me. I haven't seen those anywhere or "droppings".

  • Chigger bites are very similar to mosquito bites (red, swelled, extremely itchy). I know nothing about bed bug bites but chiggers seem more likely to me if she was at camp.

  • I know she was at camp but in our town were fighting scabies and it's my understanding that they can take several weeks to appear. Please let us no what it is when you take her into the Dr (Reid??)

  • I won't be taking her to the doctor. They are mosquito bites.
