what does it mean to sear the chicken??

  • You heat a pan on high with a bit of lubricant like butter or oil, and then drop the chicken in and don't touch it for about five minutes, until the outside is golden and delicious.

  • After the instructions to sear, it should say something about oven roasting to make sure the chicken is cooked through the center. Searing is just meant to glaze and crisp the outside.

  • Yes, lovinangels is right... And... I'm not sure if you know, you probably do but... when cooking chicken always make sure there is no pink, that it is entirely white. It is possible to get salmonella (spelling might be wrong, not sure) from chicken that is not fully cooked.
