Do you feel that a freshmen in high school should be moved up to a varsity team?

There are some freshmen that are good enough to play on a varsity team. But in my opinion, a freshmen should not be allowed to be moved up until their sophomore year. I believe they would be missing out on a important year of playing time on a junior varsity team and it would allow them that year to mature.

  • Sports teams and who is on them should be based on talent and ability, not age or grade. So yeah, if they show the talent and ability, there is no reason why not to allow them on the team.

  • i agree with you. a jr. varsity team prepares them mentally for playing hs sports bc there may be some rules or situations that they are not used to.
