  • Yes! I believe it is very disrespectful. It would be like placing a statue of Timothy McVey at the OKC bombing memorial.

  • No, I do not. This has actually been asked before. I don't find it insulting. It is located actually a few blocks away. However, what I do think that as usual, the news has blown it all out of proportion simply to stir up hate and drama. It's what our news is good at. Let's continue to stir up hatred, because hey, we don't have enough now as it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No.

It was crazy people that were responsible for the attacks on 9/11. We should not hold a whole cultural or religious group responsible. The US is based on the idea of freedom of religion. People of many faiths have immigrated to NYC to escape religious persecution. We should rejoice that in America we would welcolm a Mosque to be near the site of 9/11.

  • I can see why some would be offended, the reason they are offended is because they are being racist. They are assuming everyone who goes to the mosque is a terrorist. If there was one being built elsewhere and not getting news coverage, it would be just another day.

  • Yes. Especially when they are CONTINUING to find human remains from 9/11 NINE years later within the area of where the Mosque is to be built. It's not about disallowing a Muslim community center/mosque from being built, just NOT adjacent to what should be considered sacred ground--the 1 square mile of Ground Zero (where the 7 buildings originally stood).

Oh, so this is where the argument is going now. So all the other buildings in the 1 square mile area should be ripped down, or what? Or not repaired?

It MOST CERTAINLY IS about disallowing the Muslim community center. Because THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING. Who came up with that twisted reasoning? Rush? Hannity? Who?
