whats more eco friendly?

throwing food in the trash or putting it in the garbage disposal? i know throwing food away isn't a awesome thing to do but when i do witch do you think helps more i always thought the trash because maybe it helpt break down some of the other trash ...

  • you should do a compost if you want to be eco friendly. all it takes is worms and your families leftovers in a bucket. plus its awesome if you grow a garden

  • From the disposal it goes into the sewer lines and often clogs those lines and has to be removed by hand... into the trash. So if you can't compost (most eco-friendly option), then I'd vote trash because the disposal requires water to work properly.

  • trash. Garbage disposals aren't meant to be used to empty garbage into,its for the crumbs and such off your dishes that go down the drain. Doing so can seriously clog your drains.

  • You shouldn't compost cooked food that has fats, such as meats.

  • i live in apartments so compost piles is a no go and NO! i do not throw trash down my garbage disposal .. duh... i know it's only for scraps .. but im asking if its better for the Eco to throw the left over food from the plate in to the trash can or the garbage disposal
