Is it possible to get post pardum depression awhile after your child is born?

My daughter is almost 2, and lately I've felt more distant from her. i just feel like I don't want her anymore ( I know that's awful) I do love her, but I wish i hadn't had her sometimes. This just started recently, and I'm not sure why. Has anyone else had this happen, did it go away, or did you talk to a doctor? What else could it be if it's not possible to get post pardum after awhile?

  • Yes. That is why it is called postpartum - post = after, partum = birth.

  • Most definitely. My mom got it when my younger sister was one and a half.
