  • Soon after having my child I was in a sense fine. Having an epidural was the best choice I could have made!! We had no idea my son was going to be as big as he was. I was about 5cm in when they came in to "check me". That alone was painful enough. I was trying to go all natural but the pain got to be a bit unbearable. IMO in this day, there is no reason to put yourself thru that much pain!! My son ended up being 21 1/2 " long and 9lbs. 10 oz!! He *ripped* me so TG for it!! I think the effects from not having one and going through something like that would have been farrrrr worse. Not trying to scare you, just giving my experince :)

  • I have had 3 and aside from a little itching afterward everything was fine. I had a sister who was going to do it naturally. Completely set on it. Well needless to say after a few hours she begged for one.

  • Yes, and they made me beg because I'd originally said I didn't want one. My hubby finally had to yell 'JUST GIVE IT TO HER!'

I had it for a couple hours I guess and then they turned it off when it was time to push (which I had to do for 2 hours straight).
