Acrylic or manicure

When you go to the salon and get acrylic or go for a manicure do you get your nails square, round or square but a little round. Do you get a color or french?

  • I do acrylics. I usually get them done every two weeks. I change polish according to my moods. As far as cuts, I really just like them the natural shape.

  • I go for a manicure. The one and only set of acrylics I ever got ruined my nails. I prefer my nails rounded. And more often than not, a go with color. It all depends upon why I'm going to the salon too though. For my wedding, I did french tip, for my best friend's wedding, I got red to match the dress, with small flowers on one nail on each hand to match the bouquets. If I'm just going for the heck of it, I usually pick out whatever color jumps out at me first.

  • Had to give both up ~ luxury.... I do good manicures at home. I keep mine square because for natural nails it makes them stronger the longer they get. I mostly keep mine buffed without polish. I do my own french on occasions and today I am hot pink!

  • Your nail shape should mirror the bottom portion of the nail bed. I keep them short, with well cared for cuticles, and polish is very rare. I love doing the dark colors tho, and the secret to having them look professional is leaving a tiny space between the cuticle and sides of the nail

  • I did acrylics for several years and my nails still haven't recovered. I have to keep them short because they are so soft now, but I do use color. I like to change often, depending on what I'm wearing.
