did you ever eat something and think this helped me with this problem?

the other day i was really congested and i just kept having to blow and blow .. then i had some watermelon and i think it cleared up the congestion enough to let me sleep. i kept telling my husband i think the watermelon helped. have you ever experienced anything like it?

  • When I was congested once, I was cooking and adding pepper. The cap fell off and it went everywhere and I inhaled the pepper dust in my nose. I sneezed a couple times and everything was clear. I went on and on about that for days and when I'm really congested, I sniff at the pepper shaker :-) Always works. :-)

  • It is possible that it did help you. Watermelon, having such a high water content, may have thinned out your mucous and let it drain backward and down your throat, thus clearing up your congestion.

  • Oh, and I forgot to mention. Watermelon, all melon actually, act as a diuretic. Which probably also had something to do with your congestion clearing up.

  • I do believe certain foods make us feel better. Maybe the extra water in the watermelon was all you needed to hydrate! Either way if it isn't a bad heavy calorie food that makes you feel better, enjoy and feel the food heal!
