Pilates or Yoga? Why?

Which is better for a fit figure? Anyone? What's the difference?

  • I would suggest doing both. Both of them have different benefits for your body. Yoga is basically doing different stretches, which helps keep your mucles, joints, and general body limber. Pilates is stretches and excersise, which helps keep you toned and in shape. I definately would suggest doing both. They have great benefits when done together.

  • I agree with the others, they both have great benefits. Alot of people think that being in shape is just about cardio and strength training, but flexibility is very important as well.

  • There are many different styles of yoga. If you are looking for a more intense toning workout look into Bakram yoga (hot yoga) or Ashtanga yoga (power yoga). I do Hatha yoga with the occasional restorative yoga class- it helps with flexibility, balance (which is awesome because I also cycle), light toning, and relaxation.
