What do you put in your dinner salad?

All I put is lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and green pepper.

  • depends on what i have in the fride sometimes its only lettuce and tomatoes and others its cucumbers and carrots or some red onion. or a stick of green onion.

  • Chickpea-Spinach Salad with Spiced Yogurt Dressing
    1/3 cup nonfat plain yogurt
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
    3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
    1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
    Freshly ground pepper to taste
    1.5 cups home cooked, or 1 15-ounce or 19-ounce can chickpeas, rinsed
    1 cup diced peeled cucumber (I use zucchini or broccoli)
    1 cup diced celery or fennel (I use jicama)
    1 cu p grated ca rrots
    10 cups small spinach leaves or mesclun salad greens (about 8 ounces)
    To prepare dressing: Whisk yogurt, lemon juice, oil, cumin, ginger and garlic in a small bowl until smooth. Season with salt and pepper. To prepare salad: Combine chickpeas, cucumber, celery (or fennel) and carrots in a medium bowl. Add half the dressing and toss to coat.
    Toss spinach (or mesclun) in a large bowl with the remaining dressin

  • I think the best salads are the simplest ... I use romaine lettuce, celery leaves, cherry tomatoes, some salt, and I mix my own olive oil and vinegar dressing.

  • Sometimes I use lettuce, red onion, turkey pepperoni, cheese cubes, and balsamic vinaigrette. But usually it's lettuce, carrots, and tomatoes with whatever dressing everyone wants.

  • I get the veggie lovers bag salad with lettuce, carrots, radishes, purple cabbage and snow peas. I add in tomatoes, cheese, grilled chicken, green onion and green bell pepper.

  • I love to add walnuts, apples, pears or pineapple , sometimes even coconut on my salad with a raspberry vinegar

  • For a side-salad, one of our favorites is chopped lettuce, chopped apple, and a homemade dressing. If the salad is the meal, a variety of greens, chopped hard boiled egg, chopped turkey/ham/chicken (whatever I have on hand), sunflower kernels, cucumber, carrot, radish, bell pepper, whatever veggies we have basically, plus whatever dressing.
