Ok I am now a wee bit confused... what on earth is going on with N. Korea and S. Korea this time?

Yesterday S. K was gung ho about getting together with N.K in military excercises and today N.K threatens USA and how did we get invovled this time? I really am a bit lost on this one. Here are the articles in the next post...

  • pretty much we did drills with S. Korea...which we do every year. and N. korea said that if we go through with the drills they would take it as a personal attack and show of forces..as if we were getting ready to attack them and would answer back with nuclear power. sounds like N. korea has little man syndrome.

  • The north sank the Souths ship on March 26.

The U.S and south Korea are having war games. It's just a show of might so the north does not get anymore stupid ideas.

If the North K & South K go to war, we will defend the South.

  • The US has a very heavy presence in S. Koreas (the Republic of Korea). We help police and patrol the DMZ.

    N. Korea recently ( in the last few months) sunk a S. Korean ship. Rhetoric is being (and has been) thrown back and forth in regards to: if S. Korea retaliates, the North will go for all out war. Which if the North were to ever actively go to war with the South, the US would be involved. Heavily involved. Due to treaties and agreements that we have with the South. Agreements that were made many many years ago in order to keep the entire peninsula from becoming communist. If there are agressions against the South, the US has no choice but to be involved and defend/fight on the side of the South.

Agressions from North Korea, and North Koreas Nuclear activites (they have actually been testing weapons) should have been a much bigger priority to the US government than other countries/dictators were (cough cough. Iraq)

  • Pixie thank you... you explained it well. I try to keep up with things but lacked the knowledge concerning having US armed forced in N.K

Wow... I am not sure we should ever take a threat lightly. I don't care who it is.
