When do you start babys on baby food?

  • When they are show an interest in food/ready....around 6 months...

  • Not until baby is six months old and displays other signs/milestones of being ready for solids:

    Loss of tongue-thrust reflex

    Ability to let you know s/he is full from a "meal" with signs such as turning away from the bottle or breast.

    Ability to sit up and hold head up unassisted

    Interest in your food

    Doubling of birth weight

  • I started giving my daugther rice cereal around 4 months, with my doctors permission, and she loved it.

  • i started with baby food when my daughter was 3months old. mushy carrots is what i started with.

  • I started mine on fruits & veggies at 5 months and then one at a time because it's easier to spot food allergies.

  • I started cereal when my son was 2 months old and babyfood when he was 3 months old. By the time he was 7 months old he was off babyfood and on tablefood only.
