If the government was issuing foodstamps regardless of income would u take them. I mean u get them until your kids get grown. There's no problem with the economy can just get them. How many would not get them no strings attached.

  • I wouldn't.

  • NO! I believe food stamps are only for those people who would starve otherwise!!! And should only be used as temporary as possible.

  • It depends on if I actually NEED them or not. If I need them then yes.

  • Why would I use something I didn't need, but which cost my tax money to fund?

Answer by laurelsmama at 2:50 PM on Aug. 16, 2010

  • I wouldn't unless something horrible happened to my family (a huge medical issue/trauma where the medical bills consume both of our incomes or something else beyond our control). I have too much pride honestly. :( it is not the best personality trait but it is there.

  • No. I see no reason to take a 'free' handout when I can afford food.

  • If I needed them maybe, if financially I am able to provide for my children, NO, to me I would just be taking from another family who might really need them.

Answer by LuvmyFam6 at 2:55 PM on Aug. 16, 2010

  • No, I don't even use them right now. But I guess if I really needed them I would. After all, it's my tax money that would fund them so I would use them without feeling bad if I really needed them.

  • No u are missing the point all what u said doesn't matter. You can just get them no strings attached.

  • Well even if I could get them no strings attached, probably not, although since we probably spend about 200 a month on groceries, it might be nice to put that towards paying down other debts. But only if foodstamps let you get lots of fresh fruits and veggies. We don't get lots of pre processed foods. So, I guess my answer is maybe.
