isn't this to cheap? Babysitting...................

I am look t find kids t babysit on craigslitst. This lady has 4 kids ages 11, 4 and 2 twin 2 year olds. She says it is from 10-3 and that it will be mstly the 2 twins, but it will be the other 2 if they don't have school. She needs someone 2 days aweek. She says she will pay 50.00 a week, but I thought that was to cheap. What do you think?

  • i think it is really cheap. going ratefor welfare to pay child care for reciepients is like 125.00 a week for one kid. LOL maybe it's all she can afford. perhaps you can give her another price you are comfortable with. not for nothing but i paid 50.00 a week for one kid 20 years ago. maybe i was paying too much LOL

  • I go to one of the cheapest and it's still $15/day per child.

  • I don't think thats too bad for part time part day care but i would ask for more if more than the twins were present.

  • That sounds like a decent price for my area, but I would charge more for the afterschool kids if they come.

  • It's only 2 x per week, 5 hours a day. So it is $5 per hour. You could probably get a little more. Up to $10.

  • For 2 days and 5 hours I think that's reasonable especially if she was a single mother and she was struggling.

  • Way to little.... that is 2.50 per hour per child..... when you have all four that goes to 1.25 an hour per child....

  • Yes, that's cheap. When my step-kids were in daycare (when DH was with his first wife) it was $85/wk per child and that was back in the early 1990s.
