about the mosque near ground zero..

im not at all a fan of organize religion, but i guess if i have to i agree that people should have freedom to there own religion, & i dont have any problems with muslims nor do i think that we should blame all muslims for what the crazy ones did on 9/11, but... let me ask this question.. do you think it would be okay for someone to build an abortion clinic right next to a christian church? they are both legal, & we are legally allowed to get an abortion. but does that make sense? would it cause problems? would it cause more problems then its worth? would there be protesters outside constantly, people possibly trying to blow it up & kill the DR? wouldnt it make more sense to just avoid all of those problems, and put the abortion clinic somewhere else?

  • Some of you make it sound as if the proposed site is miles away from Ground Zero...when in fact it was close enough for part of the landing gear from one of the planes that hit the towers was embedded in the roof of the building!

And EVERY time construction is begun anywhere close to Ground Zero, HUMAN REMAINS from 9/11 victims are STILL being found--NINE years later!! How will you feel if this project goes through as planned and MORE human remains are found?!

For such a "peaceful and loving" religion, they sure aren't very compassionate considering the outrage!!  This mosque will only serve to divide the city further, not bring people together.

  • How much longer must be keep blaming all Muslims for what a couple of crazys did? Comparing 911 to abortions is like comparing apples and oranges,

  • they have drug houses right next to churches and liquor stores too.. why don't they protest that? I am Muslim. i would never protest anyones right to have a house of worship anywhere in America. No matter what. in fact the mosque i went to in america was right next to a church. they didn't bother us and we didnt' bother them. Live and let live. they say they don't blame all muslims yet they protesting something for the muslim.. yeah ok.. we believe it!

if people started protesting places of worship in america because of actions of one or a few people.. we would have NO places of worship anywhere in america for any religious group

  • Should black people make it easier for the KKK or other racist groups and all move to one state on the other side of the country? I mean after all, if the black people would just realize that their mere existence is offensive then they could avoid all types of hate crimes by just living away from racists.

The mosque already existed and these people only want the same right to rebuild their place of worship.  The members of this Mosque did not harm anyone.  These people are AMERICANS.  Muslim Americans serve in our military.  Has everyone forgotten that it wasn't only Christians that lost their lives that day?   Innocent Muslim Americans died too as well as people of other religions and heritages.

  • this purchase is probably more about money than anything else... buildings in new york are skyrocket high. they probably got a great deal to get it. The community board in this area which is made up of probably jews and chrisitans... voted for it . .in favor 29.. 1 member opposed it.. so why are people who have nothing to do with new york..opposing it?

  • would you build where you were not wanted?

Same argument used to keep black people from moving into the suburbs in the 60's. Do you really want to go there?
