  • hmm, has he had his iron level checked? it's not normal for them to get bruises that easily.

  • yep, pants. or just don't worry about it. it happens to all babies when they learn to crawl - that and rug burn on their little knees

  • I was just reading about this..Take a mans pair of tube socks and cut the feet off so you have the stretchy part..use over the knees..Pretty neat idea

  • Have you heard of "toasties"? I've never used them, but they are made to keep legs warm and protected. There are sellers of this item on etsy.com.

  • It will not harm him. When he starts to walk they will go away.

  • Babies shouldn't get bruised by crawling. My baby crawls on hard wood, grass, tile, sand, carpet, and doesn't bruise. If they are THAT bad then I would look into it. If its some minor pressure soreness, it will go away and you don't need to do anything at all. Remember that without friction, it makes crawling on wood floors very difficult.

  • Yeah, my little guy bruised too and got callouses, but he's such a fast little thing zipping around our hardwood floors all day. He literally does laps around the house. The bruises did seemed to bother him since he would pause, lift up a knee a lot while crawling. And he would sit and pat at his knees. I tried the tube socks (women's are narrower so they don't slide down his little legs as easy). They work but you have to slide them up every now and then or they just turn into ankle warmers. I didn't like how he stopped picking up his knees when crawling. With the socks on he could just slide around! :) It's cute, but it didn't seem right. Finally, I just bought a few cheap, soft rugs from Walmart. His knees still get a little purple every now and then (the rugs don't cover the whole floor, and they probably give him some rug burn) but it's not as bad.
