How many religions do you REALLY know something about?

I'm not talking about thinking of, say, Christianity and you being able to say "Well, the Christians believe in God and Jesus, heaven and hell...etc." I mean actual facts and history, deities (even if only one or two that you're familiar with), modern followers, practices, etc.

How many do you think you could pass a basic "pop quiz" about?

This isn't for debate, just for curiosity because I'm bored and was thinking about it. If I'm being honest, I might be able to pass a quiz like that for maybe 4 religions? And that's probably giving myself too much credit. I have a very basic general knowledge of a few others, but it would shock me if I could pass a test on them. How about you?

  • I took a great World Religions class for an elective in college. I could probably do okay with a pop quiz on Christianity, Judaism, Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist/Daosim, Wiccan, and I think I remember a little Shinto. It's great to learn them. Every religion has their own creation story and believes in different afterlives. I find it interesting that Christianity, Judaism and Muslim stories have the same characters, but different story lines.

  • I might be able to pass 2, a quiz about Christianity and Judaism. More if you are seperating Christianity into different denominations.

  • Quite a few world religions, my minor was religious studies. When I transfered the new school doesn't offer that program but I am still taking religion based classes in philosophy and anthropology. All kinds including some little know tribal belief systems.

  • I could probably do well in a pop quiz about different Christian faiths. Also I could do well with Catholicism, since my dad was raised in it and taught us kids about what they believe. I might do okay with Judaism, but I would do awful in paganism, Muslim or other non-Christian beliefs.

  • I'm constantly studying all different kinds of religions, reading their holy texts, etc etc. I'm a syncretist, so I pull from all different faiths. :)

  • I am Catholic and while I am sure I could pass a "pop quiz" on Catholism, I do not even want to try on any of the others. Since our roots are Jewish, I would be willing to "try".

  • well i know i could pass a Christianity test (most denominations) and a Shinto test and maybe...MAYBE a Judaism one (if its not too in depth). but there are so many Pagan beliefs i know nothing about and all i know about Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism is very basic at best, i wouldnt even try.
