When you're getting old would you rather be

physically able but suffer from dementia or tied to a bed (needing help with eating, pee and poop) but with clear mind?

  • I would rather have a clear head. I would hate to not remember my husband and kids, and other family. That would be harder for them.

  • well i have worked in nursing home for almost 10 yrs and i would say alzhimers not dementia. alzhimers you live your life backwards. and in most cases you dont rememer anything within 5-10 min after anything that is done. however what i would hate is to have a clear mind but have no control over anything...ie your speach, body movements, anything. there are diease process out there that causes this and i would hate it

  • I'll take physically able...being 100% dependent on someone to care for me 24/7 would devastate me.

  • Physically able.....Who would want to be clear of mind and know that you can do nothing for yourself? I do not want to loose my dignity.
