My dog has horrible gas.

Anyone know any natural remedies? Sometimes it's so bad, he can clear an entire room of people. Budget won't allow me to buy any super fancy, expensive foods. But he's definitely not on the cheapest food either. I'm wondering if there's a supplement that can help, or anything along those lines? Like a beano for dogs, lol.

  • change his food. try to use one that's less corn filler. also no people foods!

feed him some yogurt, the kind with the live cultures and probiotics, about a tablespoon a day should help.

  • We cut out people food about a year ago. He was overweight, and we had to put him on a diet. (I think that's why he gets in the trash now, too) I will try the yogurt thing. Thanks. :)

  • I've heard yogurt as well. Ours are gassy when they eat grass--which is every time they can get it. Why do they do that!?

  • I've heard that yogurt actually doesn't have enough probiotics, but you can buy human probiotics to give him. Also, I agree with changing his food if the one he's on now has corn, wheat, or soy and find one that has rice instead (or even go grain-free). Good food isn't always as expensive as people think. You feed your dog a lot less so it actually ends up costing about the same or sometimes less overall.

  • Change dog food. You don't have to go expensive.

  • Sounds like there is too much protein in the dog food. When you do change his food be suttle. it should take about a week to convert him to new food. If you change food too fast this can cause more intestinal issues. What is the breed and age of the dog?
