what size in average are a newborn's feet?

I am making some booties. I think I went a little overboard because they are about 4 inches long...I cant remember what size my ds was when he was a size 4.....

  • Honestly hon, I have no idea. My kids were both in a size 1 shoe when we brought them home.

  • I don't know, 1? My kids wore size 4 as their first real shoe and they were around 12 months then.

  • Here is the chart I use
    Foot Size Chart for babies:

    Preemies (1-2 lbs)- Foot Length 1" - 1 3/4"
    (2-3 lbs)- Foot Length 2" - 2 1/2"
    (3-5 lbs)- Foot Length 2 1/2" - 3"
    (5-7 lbs)- Foot Length 3" - 3 1/2"
    (7-9 lbs)-Foot Length 3 1/4" - 3 3/4" (most needed size for newborns)

    I hope it helps
