Who are Republicans' biggest corporate donor?

News Corp Chairman & CEO Rupert Murdoch

Fox News and Wall Street Journal parent company News Corp donated $1 million to the Republican Governors Association in June,Bloomberg BusinessWeek reported.

The media conglomerate, controlled by Chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch, took advantage of the unlimited donations corporations can give to governors' associations (from Bloomberg BusinessWeek):

The Republicans' biggest corporate donor was New York-based News Corp. Teri Everett, a spokeswoman, said the company "actively supports organizations that advocate a pro-job, low tax, economic growth agenda."

News Corp. opposes proposed federal rule changes that would weaken the position of its Fox network in negotiations with cable companies. Governors may have a stake in the issue.

  • Well if FOX is truly fair and balanced, we should be expecting to see a similar $1mil donation to the Democratic governor's fund.

Too bad FOX isn't a credible news source. The propogating of the right wing conservative agenda, the repeated acts of misinformation due to a pointed and glaring lack of investigatory efforts (the purpose put forth for this donation was the support of growth--8 of 10 Repub govnr's currently head states that are failing economically). Opinions are broadcast, repeatedly until the minions believe the propoganda. FOX is the media Republican propoganda machine.

  • I'm not catching what the federal rule changes are and what the big deal is. Show us what the federal rulechanges are and why fox opposes them so the infidels can respond.

You should.  The unions paid out the wazoo to get O elected and now it's time to pay the piper.  They expected EFCA to be passed and signed by now.  That fire breathing dragon is about to come out full force.

  • Sweets.... The media is overwhelmingly LIBERAL!!! So what if roughly 10% of reporters and news outlets lean conservative and have large donors to help support them!!?/ Does it really have to be 100% control in your world...or is this your PROGRESSIVE myopic agenda peeking through??!

One should really be more concerned with the "JournoLists" THEY have already PROVEN to use their controlling influence and shift the media focus off Obama and Democrats!!

  • Really not sure the point of this question but even if The Fox parent company is the Republicans Governors Association is their biggest donor it's no where near the amount Dems get by say, GE or SOROS, both out for nothing but making sure they get the favors they think they deserve.
