What is the easiest way to get your own house?

We are living with my mother. It sucks! We want to get our own place. There are no rentals available and our credit sucks.

  • im in the same boat, but there are rentals available in our area so we are going to find a nice size home that we can rent for a couple years and during that time, save up and fix our credit! just start working on your credit, call a mortgage officer and let them send you a credit report and get started that way, tell them you are looking to buy and want to fix your credit, im sure they will help you out!

  • I think if you can find a place you can rent to own that is a good route. Another is if someone wont pay their property taxes you can go to the court house pay their delequent taxes and if they dont pay you back with intrest you can take their place after so many years.

  • I am in the same boat as you. But I prayed daily for a house and we are finally getting one on Aug. 1st. It was put up for sale and my MIL is the agent so she called and asked them if they'd rent it out to us.

  • see about FHA or rural development, some places offer a full day of class, they help you get your credit in order, and set limits on what you can afford, contact a local realtor and ask about it.

  • We got a home loan easily...our credit was in the low 700's @ the time. Get a FHA loan, ours was for 165K @ 6.125%. We pay $62.00 a month towards PMI.

  • Whatever you do, don't let emotions push you into financing a home you can't afford, or at a bad rate. There are many people out there looking to take advantage of those that are desperate. Learn how to get along with mom, get your credit in order, and wait until you can get a conventional loan at a better rate.

  • Go to a mortgage place and get pre-qualified to see what is wrong with your credit, what you need to do and what you can afford...all the steps. That is what we did first.
