  • I dont know what you mean by points of credit, but we did meet with one once and it took us like 2 1/2 hours, the guy wouldnt shut up and talked so much, i dont even think he cared about our issues we were trying to figure out at the time. Whatever!!!!! i hope your appointment goes better!

  • Yes it took about an hour. We told him about our credit and he told us what would be the best thing to do. It was all good.

  • Yeha, we got ripped off for $1000!! He had us calling the company's I thought that was his job. And a year later, score is still the same. You are better off obtaining your credit report contacting them yourselves and doing it. That's what we are doing now.

  • You must do your research and find a reputable, non-profit company. Credability (Consumer counseling credit service, Atlanta) is a good one. It has been mentioned on several money radio shows. We started almost 5 long years ago...and will have all of our credit cards payed off this Dec. YAY!!!

An honest company will tell you, it looks bad on your credit initially (like you're behind on payments), but once you're done, your credit score will pick up. We even had to buy a used car about 1 year ago--got a loan at our credit union, with the same rate they offer everyone. The economy has worked in our favor a bit.
