  • It's always been a casual get together with family and a couple of friends. That's all mine and my husband's were like when we were children. Honestly I think the "over the top" parties should be reserved for THEIR accomplishments--like graduations, acceptance to choice college, major success in sports, getting that coveted job, etc! :o)

  • Home with friends and some family. Spend some but not tons, no rental.

  • They choose. A big present and dinner out or a bday party and a small gift. We always hope they'll take the family bday with the big present. Next week I'm stuck w/ a mini golf bday party. 13/per kid and that's cheap. Usually it's around 500 for a party.

  • We have small family gatherings usually. Sometimes we do something special & just have a cake with household only. This year for one of my daughters we took the family to the amusement park that is near us. She has never been, so it was special for her.

  • My little one is only 4 month old so I will have to think about this soon. But i would say a small gathering family and maybe 3-4 of her friends with a cookout.

  • B. I rent a nice, fun location, and have a big family BBQ. DD's 4th is this Saturday. It will be a blast.

  • Some people think I go overboard, but I only have one child, and he enjoys it and so do I. I invite around 50 and go crazy! Hey you only live once, and my son will have wonderful memories of his childhood b-days.
