leaving a child in the car or leaving them home to run a quick errand?

  • I see no reason to do either actually. What in the world could be so important that you can't take the time to grab your baby out of the car? And who in their right mind would leave baby home alone to do errands???

  • both illegal I think. I suppose it depends on the age of the kid. But for small kids, I would guess the car, locked if it's not hot. Presumably cause you'd be gone fewer minutes leaving them unattended and at a home, they could get into all kinds of stuff.

  • leaving them at home is worse...since i had to choose one of those aweful thing. I picked that bc being left in the car wouldnt be as long apart as leaving them at home i guess....shoot...idk...

  • Too many factors to decide which is worse. I wouldn't leave my 9 and 6 year olds home alone, but on a nice day, with the car turned off and parked in front of a convenience store I will run in to grab drinks and snacks while they wait.

  • is the car running or not? if its not running and its a hot summer day, thats a bad idea.
it really just depends on the exact circumstances

  • most of these people "forgot" the kids were in the car. i think its stupid to do both of those, but i would rather someone leave their child home sleeping to run a quick errand than for someone to forget their child in the car especially how hot it is now a days
