How do you get kids interested in gardening?

  • Mine likes to play in the dirt, so it's easy. He especially likes carrots and pulling them from the ground the first time made him so happy.

  • My kids enjoy picking out flowers and watering them. Of course digging a pulling weeds is too much work for them and they wine over it.

  • It doesnt take much to get them interested once they realize they are playing in dirt,lol.
    Hand shovel and dirt...tell them to dig.Have them pick rocks out of the dirt. Explain how worms are helpful to gardens but some bugs are not very good for gardens.Get books on these bugs from the library and have them look for the bugs in the pictures. Show them how to plant. Most kids like gardening.Have fun!
