  • We play the cookie bug game, I put them in my lap and they always insist on brushing first, then when I check how they've done I have to get all the cookie bugs they miss, but in an exaggerated manner "Oh no, there's a cookie bug, let me get it. Oh no, another one."

  • Do it for him and have him do it after.

  • he's too little IMHO to be doing that by himself.

I let my 3 & 4 year olds do what they can, but I finish it up for them.

  • I wold just brush and floss thier teeth myself until they are a bit older and can handle the toothbrush and floss better. After I brush my daughters teeth, I hand her her tooth brush and let her have a turn...its good practice.

  • I always have to force him to let me do it after

  • I'd say you are doing the right thing already let him brush and then you finish up. The best way to teach is to model let him watch you brush and floss your own teeth.
