short version:
I was thinking about asking my 16 y/o niece to spend the night & watch my 6 mo old daughter. During and after I hosted a byob costume party at my home. She has 3 younger siblings and is extremely responsible.

What should I offer to pay her?? Ive never has anyone but my parents keep Isabelle and thats only been for a few hours.... im clueless what to pay.

  • I would pay her a flat rate like $50 or something. I think $10/hr is way too much. I worked in a daycare and we only charged $2/hr per child...I know you should pay your niece more out of the convenience and considering it isn't a full time thing, but $10 for one child seems excessive.

  • She's 16 so she'd probably be willing to do it for like $75.

  • When I watched my nephew over night i was paid $ 70 a night... but if you have her there before bedtime make sure you are paying her a little extra. I was paid about $120 if i worked from about 7pm-9am.
