Southern Cornbread

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

1 cup each of cornmeal and flour, 1 t. salt, 4 t. baking powder or baking soda (baking soda with buttermilk, baking powder with sweet milk) 2 well beaten whole eggs, 1 cup milk. Sift and mix dry ingredients, blend in wet ingredients including well beaten eggs. Add about 2 T. olive oil. Pour into well oiled wrought iron pan and bake until done. About 15 minutes.

Optional: Add sugar to suit your own taste.
