Would you rather be single and free or be in an "ok" marriage with kids?

Try to be totally hypothetical, because I know if you think about NOT having the kids you already have, the obvious answer is you can't imagine not having them.

  • Single and free. I wouldn't want to be in a marriage that was just "ok".

  • being single is also very lonely unless you have friends. Still as we get older, being single would be more and more isolating, I'd think as our friends moved on and had less time for us or could no longer realte as they got families of their own. Yeah you got freedom, but we still need companionship.

  • Not sure abt that one, married 47 yrs and I've had good days and bad days, but I still don't think it was every an OK marriage. Yet, I wouldn't want to be single again, esp not now, never did. I trained him, I don't want to have to train another. The rough days go with the good days.

  • Gave this a lot of thought. I'll take the ok marriage w/kids. Being single and free isn't all it's cracked up to be. It's nice coming home to somebody even if it isn't always wine & roses.
