  • It's just a runny nose...it's probably just allergies and not contagious. Go ahead with your party unless your son develops a fever. If it really bothers you that he may get someone else sick, just be sure to let your guests know that he has a runny nose before they come. That way, your son gets to have his party and your guests know what to expect (and if they want to take the risk).

  • is it just a cold, or is it allergies? you can always limit his space/ability to spread germs on toys/etc..and really clean/disinfect during this whole week before the party. if he is still sick, or worse, by saturday, just cancel the party, and reschedule it. if you don't reschedule, you will want to be courteous and call all the parents of any child attending, or adult for that matter, and let them decide. in the end, you might end up rescheduling the party, anyway.

  • Any other symptoms? If it's just a runny nose it may just be allergies. May try some childrens benadryl. Call your local emergency room - they can give you the dose based on his weight.

  • Happy 1st Birtday to your son!! I would say make sure he gets lots of rest and fluids. He could be teething?? or coming down with something. Hopefully he will feel better before the weekend. I wouldn't cancel the party just cause he has a runny nose. If it gets worse w/ a fever or something then maybe...but hopefully not! If he is acting his normal self with a little runny nose he will still have a good time. Good luck!!
