when can you find out the sex of a baby?

  • 20 weeks. Earlier that 18 weeks, the parts look too similar and can be mistaken for the wrong gender.

  • I found out at 15 almost 16 weeks. I had a special ultrasound done at that time though to check for problems since I had a postive test result come back but luckily that was all false and my son was in a good enough position to show himself off :)

  • Wanted to add that I also had a genetics ultrasound due to poor past pregnancy history. I only knew 100% because our geneticist found a positive "hamburger sign" that was so clear that we were able to see as well. We even have a picture. =)

  • i'm assuming you're talking about via ultrasound? i found out the earliest at 18 weeks. before that it's not as definate. i think they can find out sooner via amnio though.

  • The best time to find out the sex of a baby is around 18-22 weeks. Anytime before that can be very unclear.

  • 20 weeks thru ultru sounds, it could be done early, i knew when i was about 14wks,

  • The earliest it is really clear is 18 weeks but it is best to find out at 20 weeks or after.
