# How do I solve this?

If Sam can do a job in 4 days that takes Lisa 6 days and Tom 2 days. How long would it take if they all worked together???

• LOL. Cute answer but it doesn't help me. I'm brushing up on my math skills in order to go back to college. Entrance exams are next week. I'm doing fine on everything else. Questions like the one I posted, however, are stumping me. The practice exams are telling me the answer is 1.09 days, but I don't know how they came to that conclusion.

• It would be less than 2 days. If it takes Tom 2 days to complete the job on his own, then with Sam and Lisa's help it would take less than 2 days. How do I figure out the rate at which they each work in order to c alculate how fast they work together on the same job

• tom would just be better off by himself..too many bodies in the way..it would still be about 2 days
