New signs for stimulus projects

will have "arak Obama\president" on it. They are also redesigning the "symbol" to show his commitment to the American people. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't live in a country where we put the image of our president on the sides of buildings, on signs, and have him "sign" projects. It feels like China with the Chairman's picture everywhere to remind people they owe their existence to him. What do you think?

  • I saw a bunch of the one's with the symbol on it on my road trip this summer. Stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. I wonder how much those beauties cost? I didn't see his name on the signs. What a narcissisticthing to do. I would hope it wasn't him that proposed putting his name on those signs . . . ? Anyone know for sure?  (nothing would surprise me anymore, even if Pelosi somehow got Botox to advertise on the signs just to get a little fun money for her rainy day fund).

  • You're right, Jesse.  It does feel a bit too much like China, NK, or even Iraq for my taste....

  • That's pretty obnoxious!

But you know, they HAVE to put signs up, otherwise, no one will know where those BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars went to!! LOL :o) They should be careful though, I don't think they realize that MOST people don't give a crap about a marsh mouse or a turtle tunnel.

  • Quinn: I heard that they cost $13,000 per sign. These are the newest of the $20 million spend on the signs.
