  • 1. Someone could be stealing your electric.
    2. Ask the electric company to look into it. Could have been a misread meter. They can have someone come back out and read it.
    3. Get better appliances, energy efficient is wonderful.
    4. Check and see if the electric company has added any extra costs. Everyones in our area just went up 25% a few months ago because of some changes made through the electric company.

  • wow. I thought mine was bad at 140...
turn off lights you aren't using
turn off the computer when not in use not just put it to sleep
    unplug chargers that aren't charging
turn off game consoles when o in use
don't use night lights that stay on all the time
switch all bulbs where possible to energy star one- they cost more but they really help
    hand wash dishes when possible
run the dryer loads one after the other to dry clothes faster (the dryer doesn't have to heat up each time)

  • If that is your electric bill, are you on a budget payment plan? You need to go out and read your meter and check to be sure there is not an error. Also, be sure to unplug all the chargers in your house for your phones, games, etc. If you leave them plugged in and nothing is connected to them, they are still drawing power. Make sure your computer and all its components are turned off when not in use. Simply flip the switch on the surge suppressor to off.

  • Regardless of if you have a new meter or not, issues can still occur and you can get charged incorrectly. GL!
