Are yeast infections contagious?

If a woman had a yeast infection, could she then pass it on to other females in the house through direct or indirect contact? Could a man contract it?

  • It sure is contagious. Like she said ^ It is spread through contact, although it would be hard for the other females to get it from you. They would have to use the same soap you do, or sleep in the same bed (I'm assuming you don't have sex with them....). If they come in contact with anything your privates do... they could get it. As for your man, he can get it from sex too, but it's more common in uncircumsized men. Hope this helps...

  • Yes you can pass it along. Your man can get it through sexual contact and he can get an infection by oral sex also.

  • Yes, yes they are. I'd stay away from the bread box, if I were you.
