1 Bump

Very odd symptoms and really need some advise.

Here is what is going on. He slept for a long time yesterday. Got up and they fed him (daycare) and he wouldn't eat. They gave him a piece of chicken and he gagged on it and spit up some green flem like stuff. Then he went deathly pale. They put him on the floor and he just sat there. They almost called 911. They laid him down on a blanket and he slept for a bit. He woke up twice to cough up more green stuff (about a tablespoon). When he woke he was more responsive and interacted. When I got him he was less pale. I gave him some meds to help and he felt better. Last night he woke with a fever of 101.5. Today he is totally fine. Any thoughts?

  • Take him to a doctor, it could be anything

  • He's not coughing? It sounds like a chest cold. I would take him to the Dr. If he can get a sample of the flem they can check and see if it's a bacterial infection and put him on antibiotics. Good luck!

  • If he is totally fine today..thats good. Just keep a good eye on him.
Sounds like he had some kind of 24 hour bug or something causing some flem build up, when he ate the chicken, the mix of that and the flem proabbly made him gag...he probably felt nauseated from it, causing him to go pale.
If your still concerned, cal the doc and see what they advise you to do.

  • It sounds like a virus. If he is fine now I wouldn't send him to the doctor. Of course you can't send him to day care. Kids should not go to day care if they have had a fever in the last 24 hours.

  • "Phlegm" I would let it go and see if he gets sick again or if anything new develops. If nothing, then, i wouldn't worry about it.

  • Sorry. I forgot to add we called the nurses line last night and they gave us some things to watch for. We called the doctor today and since he is acting completely fine today with no symptoms we decided to hold off and see how he does today.

  • Thank you for fixing my spelling. He has been on antibiotics for the past 10 days for a bad ear infection. Sorry for not putting all of this in the original post. If it happens again iwe will take him to the ER.
