  • Honestly you'd do better getting it from natural sources. If it's a fish oil it can go rancid without you knowing it and it loses it's health benefits. Fresh fish and flaxseed are good ways to get the omegas. I use ground flaxseed and add it to everything from waffles to smoothies and cereal, top spaghetti with it... Really anything. It's one of those almost perfect things to eat. You should be eating fresh fish a couple times a week. There also isn't enough research on the effectiveness of taking the omega suppliments. The fatty acids work in tandem with other things that occur in the foods you find them in. Eating whole foods and not worrying about suppliments is a much healthier way to go. :)

  • GNC has tripple strength fish oil.
One capsule is 900 mg of your omega threes.

Flax seed contains GLA, an omega 3 fatty acid, but studies have shown that GLA must be converted into EPA or DHA (can't remember which one) in order to be utilized by the body. The conversion process is very inefficient; only about 5% gets converted. But, you can supplement with fish oil, which is already in usable form, and get way better bang for your bucks and calories. I did the math once; you'd have to consume 3600 calories of flax seed to get the same omega 3 benefit of 36 calories of fish oil.
