Has anyone experienced a stye in their eye?
how long do they usually last?
anything i can do for it?

  • Soak a teabag in hot water,squeeze out the excess water and lie back with it on your eye. When its cool,repeat the process. The heat will draw out the gunk in it.

  • set a warm washcloth on that eye a couple times a day. don't rub it. it should go away by itself in around 3 days. if it doesn't go away or gets bigger (a stye reaches its max size in about 24 hours) see a doctor.

  • yes, i agree with the warm compresses. they are annoying but usually they don't cause harm. my grandmother had a huge one though and had to go to the dr. for it, but that is unusual. they go away pretty quickly most of the time.

  • the tea bag butterflyblue mentioned will help

    also for pain relief - make a paste out of ground clove (the cooking spice) and water and put that on the stye

  • we've had to do all the above, thay all work. the ground cloves also workes for toothaches. no matter the age.
