Wedding Present for "Older" Couple?

Good friends of ours are getting married next month. I can't figure out what to get them! They are in their late forties (no, not "old" at all, but I think it's different than getting a present for 20-somethings just starting out) and already live together. They have all the traditional stuff, I didn't want to get them a gift card, but maybe that's the way I should go?

  • Oh my gosh they are old. LOL I am 47! Massages at a spa? Really nice bottle of wine and bubbly bath. A gift certificate for a great restaurant. Movie tickets! Sexy underwear. A new t.v. New towels, bed linens, comforter. Even though I have all that stuff a nice new set of expensive 500 count sheets is nice. Really some smooth sheets who can resist? Give the gift receipt with it. So that if they are the wrong color or style they can exchange or return.
I have been married for 25 years and I would love anything that would bring me closer to my hubby. So think along those lines.

  • How about a certificate to take a class together~~like dancing lessons, scuba diving, pottery making, woodburning, painting. Or some nice bedsheets and candles. I know you said you don't want to do a gift card, but I think one for a nice restaurant would be great. Sorry, I'm not much help lol.
