Do your kids need a strict schedule or are they more go with the flow types? Or somewhere in between?

  • With my Autistic boys, yes they are very regimented and need a schedule to follow or they really don't know what to do.

  • We are scheduled people. My son has autism and when he was younger he needed a strict schedule so we got into that pattern. Now it's not as urgent but we all still like schedules for most things.

  • Normally it's kind of strict, as far as dinner time.. bedtime.. other than that we just go with the flow.

  • I've always been a "go with the flow" parent. Bedtimes/waking up are pretty strict for the older ones (because of school), but other than that we really don't have a set schedule. I think it makes things less stressful.

  • We have a fairly set routine. My 12 year old has autism so his schedule is pretty set, but he's old enough now that he keeps it himself - he knows his bedtime/waketime, etc. and what makes him comfortable.
