How do you treat/heal a thumb fracture without a doctor?

its a small bone, not near the joint.

  • I would use some sort of splint. Maybe something you can buy in a walmart or drug store. I know you can find one at a medical supply store.

  • My husband just broke the tip of his finger, and that is all the doctor did for him, put his finger in a splint, and we were able to buy one just like it at the drug store for about $6.

  • If the bone needs to be set, and you dont set it correctly it will heal wrong. Or could become infected and you will loose your thumb. Try Googl and look up the info you need. Im sure there's a web site or two million on how to Dr yourself.
