Wobbly teeth

My five year old has a wobbly tooth, is she too young? She turned 5 at the beginning of the month, i don't remember losing any teeth until I was 7!

Her teeth and mouth are healthy and in great condition. When did your children start to lose their milk teeth?

  • They're going to lose all their teeth anyway. My 7 year old niece lost two teeth in one month. The dentist told us more will come out. It can be uncomfortable too because she cried when the new ones started to come in. I went out and bought her some baby orajel.

  • perfectly normal. Just google it! A Kid Health site should pop up that it explain that normal age is 6-7 give or take up to 2 years. Some kids loose their teeth early (4-5) some loose them late (8-9).

  • Not too young. The average is around 6. My son has two loose teeth now and he is 5, but my older son didn't lose his till 6, almost 7.

  • My daughter was 5 when she lost her first tooth. I have two friends whose children lost their first tooth when they were 4. My son is 5 now and doesn't seem to have a single wobbly tooth. Every kid is different, but at 5 you have nothing to worry about.

  • Both of my boys lost their first baby tooth 2 months after turning 6. My now 8 1/2 year old has lost a total of 8 teeth, whereas my 6 1/2 year old has only lost 1 so far.
