godmother can't come to baptism- who should I have stand up instead?

dd's godmother won't be able to make her baptism and it is too late to change the date. Who (if anyone) should I invite to stand with us during her baptism?

  • Ask the priest for guidance. Perhaps one of the grandparents or another family member can stand in, but the priest will know.

  • Will the Godfather be there too? My sis couldnt be present either, so we asked Godfathers wife to stand in for sis.

  • Baby's Dr.s wife, or the Minister's wife. Your sis, or your most close youngest aunt and uncle.

  • my first thought was a close friend or family member who is also a member of your church denomination...
