I am a stay at home mother of 2 trying to sell my handmade crafts on etsy to make some extra money? Does anyone else do this or am I wasting my time.

Are there any other moms out there who sell their handmade crafts online. I am trying to help support the family but I am not sure where to start. I would love to sell several items per week but how do I advertise?

  • My best friend actually sells homemade jewelry on etsy. It took her a bit to get it going good, but she makes a decent extra income for her family! Never hurts to give it a try...

  • you should get a myspace! there are SO MANY business on myspace that sell different things. you can also link your ETSY to your profile for people to check it out!

you'll more than likely get some good business from it. just keep adding a lot of people.. (always go to the boutique profiles... they have TONS of friends! )

    Best of luck!!! :)

  • Thanks for your advice. I have a myspace page but really havent done much with it. Maybe I will try! I do have my items on etsy its just hard to advertise it. I think a lot of sellers are on etsy and not that many buyers.

  • Check out, another great marketplace to sell your crafts online. It depends in how active you are as a seller. The more active you are in selling your items, the more successful you will be.
