Just because the situation and people can't change does not mean you have to change your outlook. You do not have to change anything about yourself in order make a situation seem better. Keep your ground, keep who you are. If and when things blow up, then you will be able to keep your head about you. If you start changing your opinions and outlooks because other people aren't willing to change, then you will start to lose yourself and be taken off guard when things don't go the way everyone else expected. By keeping your ground, you will be better prepared for what can happen.
